Jon Haas is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer specializing in large-scale immersive experiences, projection-mapping, and LED Pixel arrays. He is uniquely positioned between the tangible world of live bodies in space and a limitless digital world. Virtual Production and VR/XR are only the most recent incarnations of this blending. He received his B.A. from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his M.F.A. in Design and Technology at the University of Texas at Austin. He recently worked for the immersive art experience company Meow Wolf as video designer and lighting designer, helping to unveil 2 expansive permanent exhibitions in Las Vegas and Denver.
Some of his latest creative collaborators have included Moment Factory, Cocolab, and BeachHouse. Theater and Opera credits have spanned the U.S., from the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles to the Lincoln Center in New York City. His creative projects are backed up by 2 decades of engineering and technical expertise for some of the most demanding professional situations, weaving industry standards solutions with burgeoning technologies.
Jon's design process is one of creation and refinement. He is drawn to cohesive elements that all serve a conceptual aim. When the technology fades into the background of an experience, we can be witness to true magic and Jon relishes sharing that with others. He's a dreamer and he makes things happen.
